Who We Are

Established on December 15, 1957, the Chiefs of Police Association of Hudson County is made up of Chief law enforcement officers of state, county, municipal and federal authorities who maintain law enforcement operations within Hudson County, New Jersey.

What We Do

The Association consults with legislative policymakers and the County Prosecutor on issues that affect the quality of life for the citizens of Hudson County. The Association also networks with one another to ensure that the men and women of Hudson County law enforcement agencies have the tools and support they need to carry out their duties in a safe and efficient manner.

About Hudson County

Hudson County, New Jersey is stiuated along the lower Hudson River across from New York City. The county which was named after Henry Hudson, is New Jersey's gateway to the New York metropolitan area. While Hudson County is the geographically smallest county in New Jersey, it has the fourth largest population in the entire State with a population of 634,266.

Hudson County is the most densly populated County in New Jersey and ranks as the sixth most densily populated county in the United States. Hudson County is also one of the most diverse communities in the United States. The County Seat of Hudson County is located in Jersey City, New Jersey which is also the largest municipality in the County.

There are 12 municipalities in Hudson County each with its own distinct police force. Steven's Institite of Technology also has its own police force dedicated to the security of the campus and surrounding Hoboken community. Municiplaties in Hudson County are also served by the Hudson County Sheriff's Office. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office serves in the county as the chief representative of the executive branch of government in the enforcement of the criminal law.
